As a Mad Men follower I couldn't help but notice the promotions for "The Prisoner" on AMC. They showed me Gandalf, Jesus and Anthony from Sweeney Todd...I was sold! So last week I watched the whole miniseries and found it pretty enjoyable. I was confused right up until the end but I couldn't get over the cinematography. It was fun to watch. Anyway, I couldn't help but notice how much dapper Jamie Cambell Bower is looking these days, since losing his long hair and Johanna infatuation. I was taken with his character "11-12" and how wonderfully the cameramen shot him, so I decided to make a picspam.

At the time, I'd only seen episodes 1 & 2 so this picspam will remain confined to those episodes. It's taken me this long to post them only because I'm trying to put NaNoWriMo ahead of my other various creative projects. I'm at 24,000 words so I've decided to reward myself with this!

And one day....I'll STEAL YOU! )

Here's the deal. I'm going to be super organized about my gifs! Every Sunday I'll post the additions to the "My GIF" folder. I'm tagging them all with the show and episode number so you can click on a tag and get the gifs I made for that whole episode. So far I really only do Community and Big Bang Theory with some random Glee. But it's possible I might expand to other favorite shows.

What's in there right now?

The Big Bang Theory 3.07 - The Guitarist Amplification
The Big Bang Theory 3.08 - The Adhesive Duck Deficiency
The Big Bang Theory 3.09 - The Vengeance Formulation

30 Rock 4.01 - Season 4
30 Rock 4.05 - The Problem Solvers

Community 1.08 - Home Economics
Community 1.09 - Debate 109
Community 1.10 - Environmental Science

The Office 6.09 - Double Date

Among a few other randoms like Mad Men.

I don't have a title, I don't have chapters, but I have almost 15,000 words of my novel written. I'm some ways behind where I ~should~ be but I'm not a consistent writer. I usually take big bursts of writing every few days.

I've also found that the further into the story I get, the more I want to go back and change the beginning. My book is about time travel so every little name or object is necessary somehow in the grand scheme of things. And I seem to be coming up with a lot more ideas than when I started. So if I forget to mention a famous person in the beginning, the reader won't know who the person is and why her death is significant.

So, I guess, give me praise and whatnot. :P

I finally got ImageReady+Photoshop so I've been learning how to make prettier gifs and have got it down pretty good.

My sister wanted me to make a post where I can link to my GIF folder. You'll find assortments of TV shows like Office, 30 Rock, Glee, Big Bang Theory. Keep an eye on it for more! I'll pretty much add some every week. I haven't decided if I'll make posts every week telling you what I've added. If I get bored of my 7 day work schedule, maybe :)

A Harvey Wallbanger

My first purchase from a liquor store was this Galliano liqueur. I love the thin bottle. The clerk had to help me get it from a really high shelf. But he saw the vodka and was all "You making a Harvey Wallbanger?" and I was all "Hell yes!" When he asked where I heard about them, I was too embarrassed to tell him "Doctor Who" so I just pretended like I knew about them.

Don't mind all the CD's and such on my desk. I decided to keep the liqueur in my room so my mom doesn't use it up. I payed 20 bucks for it? I will decide who gets to drink it!

And, cuz it never gets old:

Is it ridiculous that I want to spend 50 some dollars for a toaster because I want to be as nerdy as Sheldon Cooper? Not that I don't TRULY love the toaster, cuz I do. I think it's kickass! And 50 bucks isn't bad, right? That's pretty good for a Comic-Con exclusive kitchen item!

Just LOOK AT IT! IT'S FRAKKING AWESOME!

It wasn't terribly happy for me as I am sick with a congestion but the night was a success, nonetheless. Ducks won against USC, so I'm happy!

Hope your Hallows Eve was great! Tell me your costumes in this post!

My Doctor Who action figures welcome you to Fright Night! )

When do I listen?

Upbrung by three
a Constant and his two wives
One is Control, one is Variable
Jekyll and his Hyde, alive in one
An experiment conducted in a fog of
serotonin and liquid courage
transforms her into reflected self-worth

When do I listen?

Not now.
Her free thoughts unaffected by
structure and argument are laid at my feet
They tell of half-truths that
don't belong with me
When control is retrieved
the thoughts are forgotten
Laid in ashes on a beach
intent on their non-existence

When do I listen?

Not now.
Control veils her feelings
in religion and Chinese whispers
passed into her meanings
unfounded and unfought
Truth and circumstance
puncture the veil
releasing doubt
de-stabalizing her person

When do I listen?

Not now.
She welcomes the weakness
unbalancing her faith
but remaining taut in her hollow form
I can see her frame of mind
winding through itself
ending at the start
starting at the end
Moving thoughts
through a never-ending loop
Can't she see it too?

When do I listen?

Not now.
Encouraged by her Constant
she looks for good
where there is only resentment
Perhaps that is why
rambling lives while resolution dies
When once she was Control
she has reversed
Allowing time
to christen Hyde as familiar
and Jekyll has her hidden passenger

When do I listen?

For [info]heartstew
Sometimes I forget that there are die-hard fans for every show. Even ones I merely watch for enjoyment.

Take this Merlin show on the BBC. It's a cute show that incorporates OC-style melodrama with Arthurian Legends. Or as my older sister perfectly describes it: Muppet-Babies Merlin. It's Arthur, Merlin, Guenevere, Lancelot only as ~teenagers~ with hormones and magic and stuff.

The first season was quaint. The writing was sub-par, the special effects(CGI dragons/unicorns/monsters) were really low-budget but the characters were corny and endearing and that was enough to keep me watching. But for some reason all the internet was orgasming over this GROUNDBREAKING show that was AMAZING BEYOND ALL FANTASY SHOWS. I was like "eh, sure."

This second season is about 4 episodes in and already Merlin fans have created

[info]merlin_denial

...where people who have been afflicted with, let's say, the pain and torment of the Arthur/Gwen/Lancelot pairing or the treatment of Arthur towards Merlin can weep for the good ole days where this was the accepted form of interaction:

I try not to judge, seeing as I am very close to Doctor Who and tend to discount the whole 3rd series in general because of the poor decision to have the Doctor mope and travel with a competent companion only to treat her like she's second best. NHNT(Neither Here Nor There)

But holy crappola to these people who have been emotionally stricken so deeply that they must find support groups to express their sorrow.

For fucks sake, it's just Merlin.

August 15th, 2009

I'm sure my stay at Disneyland was longer but here's the part of my dream I can remember. Hannah, Abree, my dad and me are all watching Fantasmic on the Rivers of America. We've got HELLA good seats so we can see and hear everything. Unfortunetly, the show is going through renovations of its own. So there are things missing. Like the audio will cut out or the Columbia ship was going too fast so all the Peter Pan people kinda just stood there. I turned to my little sister and said "I can't wait to see it when (the renovations)it's done". Clearly I was looking on the bright side of everything. Well, eventually the show ends but it doesn't really feel like the end cuz no one is getting up and leaving. Suddenly, a little black baby is running around in front of our seating area. People are all turning their attention to it as it as it's an intentional ploy by none other than President Obama. For some reason, in this dream, Obama has a newborn baby boy that he takes with him to all his speeches. So the minute I and everyone see this baby we all know Obama is here. I even pointed to the baby and went "Hey look, Obama's son!"

Then we all look out on the Rivers of America and there's Obama coming out on a raft. Lots of people start cheering. My dad goes "Hey it's so-and-so". I can't remember the name but I turned to my dad and he clarifyed that the dude steering Obama's raft is a friend of his that you don't see very often. Anyway, Obama then starts making a speech. He's holding a microphone in each hand and even mentions it saying "I'm going to need two microphones to ...." and says something witty. But in the dream I couldn't hear the end of the joke. Some people clap and laugh while others shout something along the line of "Grain Stealer Hater!" and my dad hears that and shouts his agreement that Obama is a Grain Stealer Hater. My dream self recalls that Obama had just passed a bill that had to do with Grain. Perhaps he was banning grain or using it for nefarious purposes but all I know is I rolled my eyes when the conservatives of our audience shouted that. Obama went on to make a speech and I don't really remember what it was about but suddenly he was getting off the raft and coming to the audience. My dad turns to me and says "Quick, give me everything in your pockets! Remind me to give them back later!" He thought that Obama was going to go around to everyone to pickpocket them using "the law" or some kind of mind game. While I didn't think he would do that, I'm apparently not one to disobey my father. So I reached into my right pocket and found my wallet and a whole bunch of cash. I gave them to my dad and just as I had handed it over, some security detail came up behind us. I could see Obama was talking to someone in the audience very intently and I remember wondering if he was gonna steal our money...then my mom wakes me up in RL. Ugh!!!

I wanted to see where my mind was going with this! Was Obama a thief? Will I ever see the finished Fantasmic? Will I get my wad of cash back from my Dream!Dad? Ugh, stupid mom!!
